Perform desk top reviews of factory audit reports and Corrective Action Plans.
Engage with factories to review, agree and closure of their CAP and remediation progress and actions.
Provide support to factories for their staff education and training of subjects that impact their social compliance performance.
Provide support in clarifying labor law and OHS regulations and client requirements.
Maintain awareness of industry based risks associated with labor, OHS and environmental standards.
Conduct on-site verification factory visits as and when necessary.
Where requested, provide guidance to factory management on forward looking action and management plans that address social compliance performance.
Maintain operational understanding of the main Multistakeholder initiatives.
Create and provide regular management updates and reports as and when necessary.
Provide training on CAP process and remediation approaches as and when required.
Conduct root cause analysis on individual factory issues and situations as and when requested.
As an auditor, the role expected is to critically assess the environmental, health & safety, and labor conditions for workers in manufacturing settings across industries. Lead auditor will be expected to lead an audit team and delegate tasks to team auditors for reaching an audit conclusion; other essential duties are outlined in the following section.
Lead auditor is expected to meet Key Performance Targets related to report turnaround time and report quality.
Qualities we look for:
4-year college degree in a major of Law, HR, Occupational Health and Safety or Environment / an advanced degree is preferred
Minimum four (4) years of experience in social compliance auditing
Minimum 100 social compliance audit days (verifiable)
SA8000 Auditor Certification, RBA, BSCI Certification or equivalent is a plus
Strong business acumen
Customer service orientation and results orientated
Effective problem solving and negotiation skills
Excellent English and Spanish verbal and written, communication skills.
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet-research /reporting/analysis tools
Maintains a global perspective and is culturally sensitive and aware
Ability to travel 20% of the time
Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.
