ELEVATE is looking for an experienced and solution-oriented Project Consultant to join our team in India. You will work with leading brands/retailers, vendors and factories, along with ELEVATE experts on a grant funded project to reduce forced labor in the ready-made garment industry. This includes work with T1 suppliers and informal subcontractors. The Project Consultant reports to the Audit Manager in India and to the Project Manager in Hong Kong.


  •  Manage and direct an investigation team to conduct a series of in-factory spot-checks to verify production processes (e.g. unauthorized subcontracting) and the presence of related social compliance risk;
  • Utilize ELEVATE tools and your expertise to evaluate factory policies, processes and implementation relating to production, subcontracting and social compliance;
  • Spend over 70% of your time travelling to factories and work closely with on-site teams to verify risks and monitor improvements;
  • Track and oversee project activities such as work plans, review project reports, and ensure the project alignment with ELEVATE practices and standards;
  • Communicate the project progress through regular updates with the team in India and Hong Kong;
  • Assist the organization of meetings, launch events and brands/supplier’s workshops;
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other project deliverable which include editing, proofreading, translating, delivery of presentations;
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Hong Kong and India team as needed.


  • University degree / relevant educational background;
  • 5+ years’ work experience in supply chain, garment industry, and/or public/private partnership environment desirable. Ideally with 3+ years’ experience with a manufacturer;
  • Based in Delhi, India;
  • Deep knowledge and experience in factory operations in such area such as QA/Production, training, social compliance etc. and knows how to apply this knowledge to drive improvements to business performance and compliance standards;
  • Strong understanding of factory management and business operations; factory finance, supplier management, subcontracting practices and overall compliance;
  • Ability to provide insightful interpretation of survey data and factory KPIs and provide appropriate recommendations based on project data;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and report in both English and Hindi, both verbal and in writing, is key;
  • Ability to build the capacity and manage a team of factory assessors/auditors;
  • Demonstrated ability to work on his/her own with minimum supervision;  
  • Interest in driving business performances and improving social compliance is a must;

Time Commitment

  • This is a 18-month and full-time contract position requiring on average 40 hours of work per week. This position may require a flexible schedule. 
  • Any out of city travel costs will be covered by ELEVATE and will be reimbursed based on actual expenses and the submission of receipts.
